Awakening: A Visual Exposition of Humanity (ISBN-10: 099953520X available at Amazon.com)

In my art form I am driven to create and express my intimate philosophy. I am grateful for the opportunity to communicate through a visual dialog my deepest concerns about life; mankind and how to transcend to a higher level of consciousness. Being aware of my over cluttered mind; dispersing the fog and learning how to recognize it is the first step to raising consciousness and becoming a wiser person. I am intrigued by philosophical concepts. My statements are the fundamental underpinnings of my art; I am driven to express and communicate through visual concepts. With the dramatic passing of my twin sister; half of my being died with her. We were as one. She had all our intellectual traits; and I carried our emotional; artistic traits one perfect arrangement. It all stopped suddenly.
Years of stupor and pain passed slowly. The essence of my identity was lost. Seven years after her passing unexpected changes happened I awakened from pain; darkness and unconsciousness.
The start of creating emerged. There were brief initial glimpses when I saw through the haze, clouds and fog of my own imprisonment of unconsciousness. Struggling like a mole trying to reach the light of day I saw wisdom rising leaving behind the obscuring clutter of thoughts. Time became meaningless in the spaciousness of not thinking; making room for my inner essence to emerge.
As an animal lover making no distinction between pets and other living forms I no longer consume them. I respect all life; acknowledging our inter connection with all living matter. Inspiration took place until the past started to have little influence on my present state. The future matters only when it comes into my presence. Changes occurred to my Christian belief, liberation happened by shedding laws, manmade dogmas and human created concepts allowing room for a deeper, freer; inner connection to wisdom and spirituality. I was overcome with a feeling of belonging to something larger than myself. Glimpses into the astonishing truth of our existence made me profoundly humble. I am drawn to sociopolitical landscapes and personal human dramas that can be viewed in a wider concept beyond the depicted subject, as well as art that pushes the boundaries of traditional photography.
